On Windows Live Messenger, when I sign in as "Appear Offline," can any of my contacts see

I know I will appear offline once I sign in, but will it actually show my contacts that I signed in at all? Also, does anyone know if, when appearing offline, it still shows my contacts what music I am playing (if that option is selected)?

All these other guys are wrong. When you sign in with the appear offline status people will see when you sign in with the alert box. but when they click the alert box to message you it will say this contact appears to be offline.( I know this because when I signed in yesterday with the appear offline 2 people started talking to me. and also I saw my dialog box on my friend's laptop when I signed in under appear offline. So all my friends know I appear offline.(NOT COOL)

PS your friends cant see what music your listening to if you are appear offline.

well when my friends appear offline i still know they are on because i can see their personal msg isuggest if you dnt want ne 1 to see u apearing offline then dnt put a personal msg also dnt let the name of your music be your personal msg. trust me i know what i am talking about!

If you sign in as Appear Offline (you have to mark "Appear Offline" before you sign in), nobody will see you. If you are listening to music, they wont see it.
